Look and See

by Judith Rhodes on August 02, 2018

Dear Friends,
First, a correction!!!!  In my sermon this past Sunday, I incorrectly attributed a Marianne Williamson quote to Nelson Mandela.  Please excuse my error...   I always feel better after a confession that leads to amendment!

Another wonderful and favorite poem by Mary Oliver to share with you, Look and See...

This morning, at waterside, a sparrow flew
to a water rock and landed, by error, on the back
of an eider duck; lightly it fluttered off, amused.
The duck, too, was not provoked, but, you might say, was laughing.
This afternoon a gull sailing over
our house was casually scratching
its stomach of white feathers with one pink foot as it flew.

Oh, Lord, how shining and festive is your gift to us, if we only look, and see.

If we only look and see, indeed!  My prayer this moment that you and I intentionally, prayerfully, lovingly, tenderly, gratefully, humbly,  look and see!  What do you suppose we might see as if for the first time????   What might we see for the first time??  Hmmmm....    Let me know how it goes!

Peace and blessings,
Judy+
