The Easter Vigil is an ancient service that walks us from death to life with Christ. We use fire, light, word, water, bread and wine to tell the story that incorporates us into Christ's saving acts. We begin the service by lighting the new fire, which we light the Paschal Candle (Christ Candle) with, we read about God's saving deeds throughout history, we pray and praise God together, and conclude by sharing the great acts of Easter together: Baptism and Holy Eucharist. It is the service wherein we pass with Christ from death to resurrection, and as a church mark the transition from Lent to the great 50 days of Easter.
