Ladies and gentlemen! Come and knit or crochet with the Prayer Shawl Ministry!
This ministry creates knitted and crocheted shawls that are blessed for members of the Reconciliation church family or their relatives who are in need of prayer, comfort or solace. Hand-knitted and blessed pocket prayer squares are available for a church member to give to a non-relative. The blessed shawls and prayer squares represent the promise of God’s love, compassion, joy and peace. We also make caps for the Diocese of West Texas’ Cathedral House for distribution to those in need in other countries. Newborns at the church receive a hand-made baby blanket.
WHO: All church members are welcome to join the ministry. The group will gladly assist those who are learning how to knit.
WHEN AND WHERE: We meet every Thursday from 12:00pm-2:00pm at the church office. You can also knit or crochet at home and bring in your beautiful shawl to the church office to be blessed.
You can also participate in this ministry by:
- Making shawls or pocket prayer squares on your own, or with the members of the Prayer Shawl Ministry on Wednesdays.
- Donating funds for the purchase of yarn. Please designate “Prayer Shawl Ministry” on your donation.
